SPL In The Village - Village Service Center
Sedona Public Library opened SPL In the Village (originally called the Village Service Center) in December 2005. Now nearly 1,700 people visit each month to pick up items they’ve ordered through the Yavapai County Network, return items from any library in the Network or use the public Internet access computers. Unreserved items that are returned each day can be checked out. The Center is a WiFi location, and many people bring their laptops for free wireless access. SPL In the Village has no circulating collection of its own. Items can be ordered from any computer with Internet access via the Sedona Public Library site, www.sedonalibrary.org, and picked up at SPL In the Village.
Goals
The Sedona Public Library Board of Trustees and Yavapai County have committed funding to SPL In the Village for the next three years. The Friends of the Library also have committed funds. But we need to raise additional funds to increase our hours.
You can help by making a donation to the Sedona Public Library designated for Village Services. Sedona Public Library is a non-profit, 501(c)3 organization. All contributions are tax deductible.
You also can help by supporting our book sale In the Village, For the Village. The Sedona Fire District has generously allowed us use of the training room at the Village Fire Station. We’ll be selling books from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on January 22, 23, and 24, 2010. Be sure to stop in and pick up some bargains.
Volunteer opportunities are available before, during and after the book sale. See Dotte at SPL In the Village to sign up.
